Founder of Buntu foundation in the workshop with the girls from Ntahangwa commune

This Thursday, July 19, 2018, in the Nyabagere Conference Room, Her Excellency Denise Bucumi Nkurunziza met with the girls on vacation from the Ntahangwa commune, in Bujumbura Town Hall. Also participating in that meeting, in addition to the councillor of the Mayor of the city, the Minister in charge of youth and parliamentarians elected in the constituency of Bujumbura. This is a logical continuation of the meeting that took place in Muha commune, Tuesday, July 17, 2018 for the purpose of mobilizing them to discipline, reproductive health and the fight against AIDS to eradicate illegal sexual practices, early and unwanted pregnancies and diseases, common in this part of the country.

Presentations of the day have inventoried the probable causes of pregnancies in girls between 15 and 24 years old. This is among others: cronyism, outings with boys in restaurants, nightclubs especially at night and in hidden places, all this leads to the great risk of early sexual intercourse. Other causes may be rape, ignorance, false promises of men, etc.

The bright future of every girl is getting ready today. “Your current behavior will be consistent, from where you have to refine it more” said the Founder of Buntu foundation. Young people and girls in particular are encouraged to avoid degrading behaviours such as debauchery, which is the most important route of HIV infection and causes unwanted pregnancies. She did not fail to call them to create visions to face any manipulations because most girls drop out of school, undergo early or forced marriages and illegal abortions for lack of vision. “We need girls who have a vision to study as far as possible. Your place is in the school and not in the maternity”

Young people are called to respect their parents and to follow their advice. Self-control, especially in this holiday period, was also among the advice given to young people. .
