Women leaders’ prayer around the Founder of Buntu foundation

“God is seeking for a woman who stands in the gap before Him for the land” (Ez.22: 30). This was the theme for this Thursday, February 27, 2020 at the Royal Palace Hotel, during a prayer session of women leaders. With the objective of praying for the country, the Burundian women leaders who were also nicknamed “women of destiny” responded massively to the invitation of Her Excellency Denise Bucumi Nkurunziza, the Founder of Buntu foundation

For the Spouse of the Head of State, that meeting was organized to get referred to the recommendations from the workshop of February 22, 2019 for women leaders. “We have agreed that there will be a prayer meeting for the country because God needs a person who stands in the gap before Him for the country”, said the First Lady of the country. “Dear sisters, It is indeed an opportunity to confess all the sins committed in our homeland and to implore God for the next elections”, added Her Excellency Denise Bucumi Nkurunziza.
Founder of Buntu foundation also indicated that this prayer session coincided with the near arrival of March which is dedicated to the woman. For her, each woman will have an opportunity to meditate on her responsibilities without putting aside prayer for her family.

At the end of this prayer, the women leaders expressed their gratitude to the First Lady of the country. The representative of the Network of Women Pastors in Burundi (RFPBU) spoke in the following words: “Dear mom, you have organized us into networks and lo and behold, we are recognized throughout the country”. This network thus decorated and rewarded Her Excellency Denise Nkurunziza with a cup symbolizing victory and a crown. The women leaders also rewarded the First Lady with a trophy and food to help the children of the “Umusamariya w’Imbababazi” orphanage.

Founder of Buntu foundation greatly appreciated these gestures of recognition and urged them to keep the same spirit to the one who will succeed her in her functions as First Lady.
